Inside the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia there are 13 white geese that represent the death of Saint Eulalia who was only 13 when she was prosecuted for not proclaiming Christ was the Son of God. All throughout the cathedral you are able to hear the quacks of the geese which remind us today of the horrific events that took place so many years ago. Her body remains in the cathedral crypt and every Sunday the Sardana dancers dance in memory of her in the Pla de la Seu.

The Lucky Turtle

On your last stop in the Gothic Quarter visit this lucky little turtle and rub your hand on its back for good luck. The cute statue is right beside the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia and on the wall of Casa de l’Ardiaca! After you rub the turtle for good luck, venture into Casa de l’Ardiaca for amazing exhibitions and a beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view of the Barcelona Cathedral.
