Barcelona is a big city, and after going from place to place, taking in all the sights, you and your kids will be hungry and will be looking for some energy to power you through the rest of your day exploring. We’ve complied a list of the best places to snack with kids in different neighborhoods throughout the city. No matter where your adventure in Barcelona takes you, we’re sure you’ll find somewhere to stop for a pastry or a juice on this list.

Caelum

Pastries at caelumThe heart of the gothic quarter is known for its old stone and tiny winding streets. But did you know that it is also home to a quaint tea shop? Filled with teapots and jars of jam, the space is warm and welcoming. After wandering through the streets of the gothic quarter and seeing all the sights, Caelum is the perfect place to rest and refuel with your kids. They will love having a tea party in real life! Let them try drinking with their pinky up and they will be sure to have a blast. Caelum has a wide assortment of cakes and pastries to gear you and your kids up for more exploring in Barcelona!

Kids y Kafé

kids & kafé place to snack with kidsLocated in Les Corts, Kids & Kafé is the perfect place to stop and grab an afternoon snack with your kids. Kids & Kafé is more than just a bakery, it is a space entirely geared towards kids. The walls are colorful, there are activity books for the kids, and lots of space for them to run around and toys for them to play with. Designed for kids from 0-8 years old, the center lets kids simulate real-life experiences through play, while their parents enjoy a cup of coffee. The play sessions start at 7 euros an hour, but it varies based on age and hours spent. This would be a great way to relax while your child has a fun learning experience!

Cocoa

CocoaLa Sagrada Familia is one of Barcelona’s most iconic monuments, and it is a beautiful place to experience with your family. That being said, the tour can be long, and you and your little ones may get tired after taking in all of its marvels. Cocoa, located just a few blocks away, is the perfect respite. Just when you thought they couldn’t get more family-friendly, they have diapers in all sizes for just one euro.

Cocoa offers food and drink of all types. From coffee to smoothies to hot chocolate to drink, to pastries to munch on to healthier options like their yogurt parfaits, everyone will be able to find something for them on the menu. You and your family can enjoy a full meal here, as they offer eggs, salads, burgers, pasta and more. They have coffee for mom and dad, as well as sandwiches, salads, cookies, cakes and even pancakes! There are vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options.

La Ikas

Tucked in the idyllic streets of Gracia is La Ikas, its welcoming façade painted a warm fuschia with a large sunflower painted around the doorway. Inside, the space hosts kids books and toys for them to play with. Additionally, there is an outdoor patio space out back, which is perfect for beautiful days when you want to sit down, but the kids want to run around. After you fuel up, take a short walk to visit one of Guadí’s spectacular creations, Casa Vicens.

Here, you can find many different options for an afternoon snack for you and your kids. They serve teas, juices, pastries, quiches and even hamburgers. There are also vegan options.

Sopa Provença

Sopa is a family-friendly restaurant located in Eixample. While the dishes are geared more towards adults, they offer smaller snacks that would be perfect for the kids. Take a moment to relax, and enjoy something to eat. 

Menu

They offer soups salads, and different pastas, as well as smaller pastries for the kids to munch on. Sopa Provença has a Menú del Día so you can get a good amount of food for a good price. The restaurant is vegetarian and has many creative options.

Café Camelia

café cameliaEmbodying the warm spirit of Gracia is Café Camelia, with colorful flower pots attached to its exterior. This cafe is perfect is you and the kids are looking for a late lunch, or just want to stop in for a snack. The environment is relaxed and not rushed. 

Menu

Café Camelia offers the traditional Menú del Día, which offers two courses plus dessert or coffee for a fixed price. If you aren’t as hungry, the serve juices, pastries, and smaller bread items as well. The café is vegetarian with loads of different options. You could get anything from a piece of cake with coffee to a full meal with couscous as the main course. 

 

Granja Petitbo

la granja petitboOne a sunny day, as are in abundance in the Mediterranean, you can often find the outdoor seating area of Granja Petitbo in Eixample well-populated, with everyone from college students to families with strollers by their tables. The restaurant has indoor seating, too, with lots of natural light and bright flowers. Be aware: the location does get crowded on the weekends, especially for brunch!

At Granja Petitbo, you can find juices and pastries, like carrot cake or brownies, if you are just looking for a light afternoon snack with kids. If your kids are ready for a full meal, you can find anything from salmon to salads to enjoy.

la desayunería, a good place to snack with kidsLocated in Eixample, this is the perfect place to eat with kids! Casual and cozy, you’ll find whatever kind of food you’re in the mood for here. It is easily accessible by public transit and geared towards kids. 

Menu

To drink, La Desayunaría offers coffee, tea, juice, and coco, as well as shakes. To eat, you can choose from eggs, sandwiches, cereals and salads. They also have a menú del día offer where you get three courses plus bread and a drink for a fixed price. The restaurant has gluten-free options.

Cereal Hunter

Cereal Hunters- a good place to snack with kidsStop here if you are looking to treat your kids. Located in Eixample, it is easy to get to and in walking distance from many attractions. This restaurant is themed around all things cereal- so get ready for a sugar overload! The space is fun, colorful, and is sure to be any kids’ dream. 

Menu

You can create your own bowl of cereal, or even order coffee, coco or a milkshake with, you guessed it, cereal! They also offer toast, smoothie bowls or yogurt for those who don’t want a sugar high quite as intense.

El Pati Verd

Without a doubt, Barcelona holds many surprises.

el pati verdIn the neighborhood of Sants, you will find the perfect spot from the littlest of the house. El Pati Verd is a restaurant adapted so the whole family can enjoy. As soon as you step through the door, you’ll feel the cozy, family-friendly environment. It looks like a normal café, but if you walk to the back and turn to your right, you’ll find the play area. You can leave your kids playing, drawing on the enormous chalkboard or looking at some of the books. 

That’s not all, because just to the side of the play area, you’ll find a precious park, made just for those warm summer days. You can enjoy some cookies or a coffee while your kids have fun playing in the fresh air.

El Pati Verd offers various homemade items, such as pastries and cookies, like their delicious cakes! You can top off your meal with a coffee, a juice or enjoy one of their smoothies. The kids love them!
